Fall Fun 2018 Chicago Gourmet & Chicago Halloween Jack’s Pumpkin Nights
Guess who’s back? Don’t get too excited…. I just popped back in briefly because I had too much fun the past 2 weekends and felt compelled to share. Despite my intentions to skip one of my favorite fall Chicago events this year, I ended up Rocking the Fork at Chicago Gourmet 2018. In its 11th year, it is one of the largest foodie gatherings across the nation.
Top chefs from Chicago and beyond come together to dish out delicious bites, talk food and wine, and offer mouthwatering demonstrations. It’s a weekend plus packed with gluttonous indulgence which I only partially relished in this year. Chicago Gourmet events happen annually… day and night over one weekend in September. From Hamburger Hop to Late Night Gourmet, Rise and Shine, the main event, and everything in between you’ll be beyond satiated.
I’ve been attending Chicago Gourmet for the past 7 years and it’s definitely an event I highly recommend (worth the ticket price). Consider attending next year but plan ahead. Tickets always sell out and if you’ve never been I actually shared my 7 tips for Mastering Chicago Gourmet last year.
Since you have to wait until next year to enjoy Chicago Gourmet 2019, I have another event to recommend, Jack’s Pumpkin Nights. I checked out the interactive, seasonal pop-up on opening night with a group of friends and we had a ball. The fall event comes from the folks that brought us Frosty’s Christmas-themed bar last year.
Sprawled across 2 acres in Goose Island, Jack’s Pumpkin Nights offers a larger than life multisensory outdoor adventure for all ages. Enjoy getting lost in Chicago’s largest corn maze, fall sips served at one of three bars, fun games, tons of instagrammable photo ops, incredible pumpkin carvings, food trucks, roasted corn, music, and more.

I love fall and definitely recommend checking out this limited pop-up event before it’s gone. As previously mentioned, my friends and I had a lot of fun. The event staff did a great job with the space totally decking it out for fall. It’s a large open area and everything is spread out. We were there early and it never got over-crowded though there were a good number of folks in attendance. I am sure it gets more packed later though I think crowd size is managed well thanks to pre-ticket sales.
